Leon Vincent Overseas focuses on innovation to modernise its customs practices with Conex:
Present in France, the DROM-COM, Europe, and all other continents, the Léon Vincent Overseas (LVO) group chose Conex as its sole partner for customs declaration management. After adopting CUSTOMS via conex™, the implementation of ZEN via conex™ is transforming the organisation of document flows and marks a decisive step towards automation, reliability, and digitalisation.
An international logistics player with complex needs
With 1,270 employees, 69 offices worldwide, and 62,990 m² of warehouses, Léon Vincent Overseas is a major player in international transport and logistics. Since 1932, LV OVERSEAS has offered an international reach and provides a complete service for transporting all goods across all continents, for import and export. The group handles sea, air, road, and rail transport, as well as storage, customs management, and groupage. Its clients operate in various sectors: Oil & Gas, perishable products, industrial projects, pharmaceuticals, and events.
With international coverage (French West Indies, Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia, United States…), LVO managed its customs formalities with several tools and providers until 2022. Management decided to rationalise and unify all procedures around a single partner, Conex, to gain coherence and efficiency.
A collaborative and intelligent platform
The CUSTOMS via conex™ customs declaration platform is now used by almost all the group’s agencies (Metropolitan France and French West Indies). This transition occurred naturally with a gradual adoption of the interface. With ZEN via conex™, adopted on a pilot scope before a general rollout across the entire organisation, teams are reaching a new milestone: document processing is centralised, digitalised, enhanced by artificial intelligence, and secured by blockchain.
One of the project’s triggers was a specific need expressed by an LVO client: the ability to determine the line-item cost price on their declarations. Until then, this operation was tedious and time-consuming. With ZEN via conex™, the calculation is performed automatically, reliably, and in detail. This unique market feature was a decisive factor in Léon Vincent Overseas’ choice of Conex.
« Zen is currently the only solution that allows us to meet this client requirement simply and effectively. With this solution, each export declaration from Metropolitan France is automatically mirrored to establish the import declaration for the French West Indies, which simplifies and secures the declaration process. We no longer need to enter data twice, and we reduce the risk of errors, » explains Édouard Lucas, Deputy Head of Customs for the Léon Vincent group.
Organisational transformation
Beyond technology, ZEN via conex™ has changed internal practices at LVO:
– Paper flows have disappeared in favour of a shared digital workflow.
– Declarants now work on a collaborative interface, with real-time tracking of files.
« Our declarants gain productivity and upskill, as they become versatile in both export and import. From the team’s perspective, the organisation is more fluid and flexible, » concludes Édouard Lucas.

The project’s success also relies on Conex’s support. Teams benefited from training, close monitoring, and agile functional adjustments.

Next steps
The implementation of SAFE via conex™, a solution dedicated to pre-customs clearance formalities, is underway. It will complete the ecosystem deployed for LVO and further secure flows.
