03/2012 - New Security Programs in Air Freight: ACAS

After the Yemen Incident (bombes destined for the US which almost passed through the pre-arrival security declarations), American Customs has started a new system called ACAS (Air Cargo Advanced Screening). The project which is currently in a pilot-test-phase in North America is inspiring the EU-Commission and a similar program is being studied for Europe.



10/2011 Security declaration at exit of the EU

Two procedures should be distinguished: ECS and EXS. There should be either one or the other filed for goods leaving the EU. It is not necessary to file both. In the large majority of cases, the ECS procedure will be necessary. In specific cases (see below), the EXS is necessary since no ECS has been filed.


10/2011 - Securing air traffic… IATA informs its members

With all of the new security regulations that the air industry must comply with, IATA organized its first conference on air cargo and mail supply chain security. Conex was present at this first event on the round table entitled “Role of IT solution providers to support countries’ requirements”.


05/2011 - ICS and risk analysis, a barely exaggerated parallel on the data efficiency

Dr. Lance Thompson, International Development Manager -CONEX-, was in Seattle, USA at the beginning of May 2011 for the annual World Customs Organisation conference dedicated to new information technologies.
